For no other reason than to share my love for music, here is my top 10 albums of 2009. Hope this can make you discover something else than the usual crap we all hear on the radio. All cds are in my opinion great and complete but for tasters i have inserted a few suggestions per cd. Please buy these from you favorite online store or old school music shop but PLEASE don’t steal them.

8: My Maudlin Career by Camera Obscura   Great sounds, harmonies. Nice  yesteryear feeling. Download Sweetest Thing

7: Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix by Phoenix   You’ll probably know this as the Cadillac commercial but first this CD came out. Great hook after great hook! Download 1901

6: No Line on the Horizon by U2  I have to put this on here. Download Magnificient or even better Fez - Being Born

5: Loveshit by Jason Bajada    Pretty close to perfect for my ears. Still wish he would play the Pub once in a while ;-) Download Cut, Watch ,Leave

4: It’s Blitz by The Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs  So fun. Karen O is the best!!! Download both Dragon Queen and Zero for a real taste

3: In and Out of Control by The Ravoennettes  This just came out a few months ago and is simply outstanding. Joyful harmonies on songs called Suicide and Boys Who Rape (Should all be Destroyed) Download above mentioned

2: Sun Gangs by The Veils   I was floored by this band when i first heard this CD and still feel the angst every time I listen to Three Sisters and The Letter. Download the whole CD but to get a taste start with Larkspur, The House She Lived In and the two previously named tracks

Tied for 1: Swoon by Silversun Pickups   I don’t care who they sound like. They are FUCKEN Great!!! Great concert at Metropolis this past fall. Download the whole thing, Growing Old is Getting Old is OUTSTANDING!!!

Tied for 1: Fantasies by Metric:   Emily Haines’ voice is perfect (as was her dress at the Metropolis) Great tunes, great hooks. Perfect listening!!!! Download the whole CD again. Start with Gimme Sympathy and Sick Muse
